| What’s in it for you
“If you want to be healthier than you’ve ever been, you need to do something you’ve never done”
Health does not come in the form of a pill or a potion. The body heals from the inside out, not from the outside in. People have to get out of the notion that doctors do the healing. Why can you be healthy for so many years and all of sudden your sick. As an example, allergies. You live 30 years of your life and all of a sudden get them. If it had to do with pollen you would have had them from day one. It’s not the pollen, it is the bodies resistance to pollen. The body’s ability to resistis directly proportional to how well the nerve system is functioning.
For example, how do you feel when you haven’t eaten? What does your body tell you? You get irritable, you can’t focus and you get fatigued – totally miserable. The same thing happens to your brain when it doesn’t have the correct balance. Chiropractic care restores the balance to the brain which helps alleviate the causes of things like depression, anxiety, headaches, etc. without the need for drugs.
If you would give a healthy person a chemical (drug) it would make them sick. How could anyone logically think that giving the same chemical (drug) to a sick person would make them well? Chemicals and drugs only make sick people sicker!!
Do you really think that headaches are caused by a lack of aspirin? ADHD – lackof ridilin?
How Chiropractic Helps Keeps You Healthy
Let me explain to you a few things about how the human body functions. There are twelve major systems in the human body. These systems are the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, lymphatic, immune, sensory, urinary, reproductive, endocrine and nerve systems. Of these twelve systems, there is one that controls all the other eleven. If there were any interference in that primary system, then automatically one or more of the other eleven systems would have to be affected. For example, take one room in your home in which you have different systems such as lights, computer, televisions, heater or fan, radio etc. Let’s say that all of these different objects would be working in that particular room. If all of those systems suddenly shut down, what would be the first thing that you would do? The large majority of you would say that you would check the electrical breaker system because that breaker system controls all of those other systems in that particular room. You certainly would not start by changing all of the light bulbs, or by buying a new computer, new radio, or a new fan before checking that primary system, the breaker system. So wouldn’t it make only too much sense that if something in the human body started to malfunction that logically the first thing that should be checked would be that number one system. Wouldn’t it make even more sense to properly maintain your primary system to insure that the other eleven systems function properly at all times to avoid unnecessary problems in the future?
The primary system in the human body that controls all of the other eleven is called the nerve system. Specifically, the central nerve system. The central nerve system consists of the brain and spinal cord only. It, in turn, controls 100 percent of everything else that goes on in the human body. Here are some other amazing things about that central nerve system:
The Wine Family: Elise, Debbie, Lauren, Dr. Doug and Austin |
When a man and a woman come together to conceive a baby, the first group of cells that actually develop in the womb are the brain cells. After there is a certain number of these cells, which we call the brain, there is a small extension that starts to develop which is termed the spinal cord. Once that has developed to a certain proportion, then there are branches that start to appear at multiple levels. That, in turn, is the start of the peripheral nerve system. At the end of those branches, all the other different tissues of the human body start to develop. But first the brain and spinal cord have to produce the life force, intelligence, and blue prints before any other tissues of the human body can start to be manufactured.
The second amazing thing about the brain and spinal cord (central nerve system) is that they are the only parts of the human body that seem to have to last us our entire lifetime. Once we are at the age of approximately two to three years old, we have all of the central nerve system cells that we will ever have for the rest of our lives. The other tissues of the body, including the peripheral nerve system, continue to regenerate automatically our entire lifetime.
Another amazing fact is that the central nerve system is the only organ in the human body that is entirely protected by bone. The brain is completely surrounded by the skull and the spinal cord is fully encased by the vertebrae. At every level of those vertebrae is where the peripheral nerves exit and communicate the central nerve system with all of the other 70 thousand trillion cells of the human body thus allowing them to develop, function and regenerate. If there is any interference in that communication between the central nerve system and any of those other body tissues, then that interferes with the development, function and regeneration of those tissues, which automatically creates disease.
If any of these twelve systems lose their ability to contribute their share of function, all of the cells of the body suffer. Extreme dysfunction leads to death whereas moderate dysfunction leads to sickness. Do you know what factor is used to determine life from death? In order to be pronounced dead, what is measured is if there are any more electrical impulses in the brain. Therefore if the brain is communicating at 100 percent with all the other tissues of the human body, you are 100 percent alive. If the brain does not communicate at all with the other cells then you are 100 percentage dead. If there is any interference with the communication from the brain to any other living body tissues, then you could say that the body is proportionally dead or alive, relative to the amount of interference that exists?
For example, if I go into your shoulder and completely sever the nerve, your entire arm would go dead. You would not feel it, move it, nor would there be any function or regeneration. But if only 25 percent of the nerve were choked off, would that mean that your arm was 75 percent alive but 25 percent dead? The same scenario exists for every organ, every gland, every muscle and every other tissue of the human body. If the nerve system is able to communicate at 100 percent with all of those body tissues, then you are 100 percent alive. If there is any interference, whatever percent of interference exists is how much life force you lose to that particular area which in turn compromises your potential for health.
The principal area in the human body where interference with this communication between the central nerve system and the rest of the body occurs is at the vertebral level. When any vertebrae move out of its normal position, it can put pressure on the nerve, which in turn interferes with that communication. That vertebral interference is called a subluxation. These subluxations are therefore directly proportional to your health. The body is a fabulous machine. It needs no help; it just needs no interference.
The only chance that you have in your entire lifetime to be healthy is to make sure that there is no interference in your nerve system. If subluxation exists, you automatically compromise your health. The number one cause of this interference in life is subluxation. Chiropractic is the only profession that dedicates its entirety on finding and correcting subluxations.
In closing let me explain to you how lucky I am. When I am asked how my family is doing, my response is always the same; “My family is very healthy, thank you.” You see, my oldest daughter is 19-years old and she has never been sick a day in her life. She has never had a cold, flu, an allergy, a headache – in fact; she has never had so much as an aspirin in her body. So I must be very lucky. I also have a 17-year old son and he’s never been sick a day in his life. Never a cold, flu, allergy, or headache, and he never had so much as an aspirin in his body. I must be incredibly lucky. And, I have a 14-year old daughter with the same scenario, and she has never needed any kind of chemical or drug. I must be the luckiest man alive. But wait, my wife, whom I have been with for over 30- years, has never had any health issues or any typical female problems such as menstrual cramps, and she too has had no reason to put any toxins in her body. I also have a dog. He’s 4-years old and never had a reason to go to the vet. I happen to be 50-years old and have never been sick a day in my life and have never missed a day of work. My entire family, including our dog Aldo, has been under Chiropractic care our entire lives. I was fortunate to have parents who were under Chiropractic care and, in turn, I have been under Chiropractic care since birth. My wife has been under Chiropractic care since we began dating. Each of my children has been adjusted regularly since day one. The fact is that I have an extraordinarily healthy family. Is it coincidence or is it Chiropractic? You decide.
